The NCIV Board of Directors has unanimously voted to appoint Ms. Jennifer Clinton, Ph.D., as President of NCIV. She will officially assume her responsibilities on March 1, 2012, and will be formally introduced to the network during the National Meeting program in February. Mark Rebstock has agreed to continue to serve as Interim President through the transition period, and the Board appreciates his ongoing commitment to NCIV.

Jennifer brings significant experience as a nonprofit executive and strategic thinker. She currently serves as Executive Vice President of The Washington Center, which provides experiential education and career development opportunities in Washington, DC for college and university students from across the country and around the world. During her tenure there, Jennifer successfully led the organization's strategic planning process, implemented technology solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness, and developed partnerships with the federal government resulting in new funding. She previously served as Special Assistant to the President & CEO of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and as Program Manager of STS Foundation, an international high school exchange program. Jennifer earned her M.B.A. from the University of Maryland, a Ph.D. in French Literature from the University of California, Davis and her bachelor's degree in political science and French from Marquette University.

NCIV Board Chair Alexander P. Durtka Jr., of the International Institute of Wisconsin said, "I hope you will join me and the other members of the Board in welcoming Jennifer to NCIV. We look forward to working with her and with everyone in the network as we enter the next phase of our institutional growth and continue to engage in efforts to guarantee NCIV's future as a leader in citizen diplomacy."
