The Great Chocolate Challenge

What does Citizen Diplomacy mean to you?

This was the question posed by Cari Guittard, a Senior Associate with Global Strategic Partners and keynote speaker at the Citizen Diplomacy Luncheon during the NCIV 2012 National Meeting. Ms. Guittard challenged everyone in the NCIV Network to take the theme of the National Meeting, "One Story at a Time: The Impact of Citizen Diplomacy," to heart and share what it means as a source of inspiration and an illustration of the impact it can have. Engaging Americans in citizen diplomacy is a passion of Cari's, and the entries showed that the passion for citizen diplomacy and impact it has on the network and the world at large is great indeed. "I was truly touched by the thoughtful and heart-warming answers we received," Ms. Guittard said, "and for that reason we have decided to declare not one but three winners of the Citizen Diplomacy Chocolate Challenge."

Each of the winners was graciously awarded a 10 pound bar of Guittard chocolate, courtesy of Ms. Guittard. Click on the titles of the winners below to read their stories:
