Membership

Our members include more than 90 community-based organizations across the United States, national program agencies located in Washington, DC, and associate member organizations and individuals from across the country. We believe that by making NCIV as inclusive a network as possible, we enrich the dialogue on international education and exchange that leads to a stronger international community.

NCIV member organizations are experts at matching the resources of their communities with the needs of visiting international leaders. Each organization is dependent on a corps of volunteers - citizen diplomats - who serve as board members, program officers, professional resources, mentors, and home hosts. More than one-third of NCIV's community-based members are completely staffed by volunteers. Each year more than 80,000 volunteers are involved in NCIV member activities.

For a directory of NCIV members, visit the Online Resource Directory, an online version of the NCIV Membership Directory (PDF), combined with a searchable database of member programming capabilities. To become a member of NCIV, simply complete the appropriate application form. Do not hesitate to call any member of the staff with questions, comments, or suggestions. Interested parties may also download a more detailed Guide on How to Work with NCIV Members.
