The National Programmers Workshop is an annual one-day event funded through NCIV’s cooperative agreement with the Office of International Visitors, U.S. Department of State.
The National Programmers Workshop is designed for staff of the National Program Agency members of NCIV and the Office of International Visitors, U.S. Department of State who work with the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). The Workshop is an opportunity for participants to discuss latest trends affecting the IVLP, share best practices for national and D.C. programming, and develop avenues for improved communication.
Workshop Goals
 Develop understanding of U.S. public diplomacy as the context within which the International Visitor
Leadership Program functions;
Improve lines of communication among NPA programmers and DOS officials;
Involve and recognize the contributions of some of the major D.C. “gatekeepers;”
Share best practices in programming;
Discuss special considerations involved in planning quality programs for International Visitors in smaller communities.
