The NCIV Excellence in Advocacy Award was established in 2002 to recognize the exceptional contributions of NCIV citizen diplomats in the field of advocacy. Recipients are experts at building long-term relationships with their Representatives and Senators in the U.S. Congress and with their staff members. They advocate for sound policies and increased resources for the State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program and for other exchanges.
This award is presented to an individual who has rendered exceptional service to the NCIV network by underscoring the positive impact of exchanges on U.S. communities and hosts, on the foreign leaders who participate, and on U.S. foreign relations.
